To find out more about what a Key Off is please visit

While we would love to watch the winners drive off in their cars the day of the Key Off; there are a few steps that must take place beforehand. A few packets of paperwork and titles transfers and properly registering and insuring with the state of Massachusetts. Once those steps are completed the winner contacts the dealerships who provided the Grand Prize and schedule a delivery.

Meanwhile, we at Keys to Success were able to speak directly to the teacher who nominated Derek as a Key Student during the 2014-2015 school year.

Ms. Neville, teacher at Waltham High School, stated:

I nominated Derek for a key card because of his overall growth since he started high school.  From freshman year to senior year it has been a pleasure to watch Derek mature into a hard working young man.  Along with focusing in Auto Tech where he has been a student in the Vocational and Career program he has also challenged himself this year with participating in classes such as honors Physics and honors History of Waltham, and pre-Calculus.  He has begun to recognize his abilities and puts forth great effort in all he does. He has his own internal motivation yet I believe winning the car was just the icing on the cake for him.   I am proud of Derek and I am extremely happy for him that he won the Keys to Success Grand Prize.

WOW! Congratulations Derek on making such great strides in both your academic and personal life! This is what motivates us at Keys to Success to do what we do. Reward, Recognize and Empower students to their full potential!

Derek recently graduated Waltham High School and plans to attend MassBay in the Fall. Good Luck Derek!
