Senior Alex Ward received a Keys to Success card this fall from Mr. Long.  He is a very successful student he is involved in sports for all three seasons.  He played football for all four years of high school and is the co-captain of the indoor track team, and he also runs outdoor track in the spring.

Mr. Long chose Alex Ward as the recipient of a Key to Success card for many reasons.  He had Alex Ward in honors accounting, YTE, and finance.  Mr. Long explains that Alex has always been successful in everything.  “Alex is quiet, he doesn’t get as noticed as he should,” says Mr. Long.  He explains that Alex is a gentleman, which is rare these days.  He also thinks it would be neat to see Alex drive away in a car he won, and chose Alex because he is a leader; students flock to him.  He is a pleasant person that always has a smile on his face.

Senior Housemaster Mr. Piantedosi knows Alex pretty well since he comes from a large family and he had his sister in class.  Mr. Piantedosi explains “He is a nice young man; the thing about Alex is that if you don’t know him he can be very quiet.”  Mr. Piantedosi explains that he is a hard worker and a well-rounded student. He believes that college is definitely in Alex’s future.

While talking to Alex Ward about receiving a Keys to Success card, he seemed very surprised to receive one. “I wasn’t expecting a keys to success card, but I am glad I got one from Mr. Long because he is one of my favorite teachers,” says Alex.  “It made me feel like a good student and a better person.”
